Thanks to your generous support, Global Girl Project has been working in Haiti through our partnership with Fondation TOYA, training girls from communities affected by violence and instability to lead change.
Between January and March 2026, we completed a cohort with 9 girls. During their 3month leadership journey, the girls attended weekly sessions where they explored the power in their voices, identified local issues, and learned practical leadership skills in project planning and advocacy.
These young leaders addressed digital and psychological violence – specifically the impact of social media on violence among young people, including online violence, digital sexual violence, and psychological violence. The event was held at a camp for displaced persons, reaching 30 young people and teenagers. Attendees called it "a very rewarding activity." The girls now want to organise more gatherings in different places.
One graduate shared: "I didn't realise I had such strong leadership skills."
The $26 raised has contributed towards a girl's education grant, supporting her to stay in school and remain engaged in leadership training. We are continuing to
