Poverty remains a major barrier to sustainable development in S/East Nigeria, leaving many youth underprivileged and without viable economic opportunities. With limited income, they often face hardship, poor educational access, and vulnerability to social and economic instability. Many struggle to build a future or contribute meaningfully to their communities. To overcome this challenge, empowering youth with practical, income-generating skills is essential. Therefore, we must focus on training
This project will greatly enhance youth livelihood and financial stability in S/East Nigeria. Many young people lack the resources to begin snail or fish farming due to financial constraints, limiting their ability to pursue sustainable income opportunities. With support from this project, they can acquire the skills and start-up capacity needed to earn more for themselves and their families. As a result, their poverty will be reduced, and they can become truly empowered.
Snail & fish farming will help trained youth build long-term, sustainable livelihoods. As they begin earning income from these skills, their poverty will reduce, & they will be seen as productive, valued contributors in their families & communities. Instead of remaining idle or vulnerable to harmful situations caused by economic hardship, they will have a reliable source of income. This stability will help them continue their education, support their families, & contribute to economic growth .
