We are incredibly grateful for your kindness, generosity, and expression of solidarity to our project, "TRAIN 3K WIDOWS IN SNAIL FARMING IN SOUTHEAST, NIG (54738)".

In the past three months of our last project report, we haven't received any donation through GlobalGiving, in continuation of our humanitarian services.

Besides, we haven't made significant progress in realizing some of our project goals so far in training widows in snail Farming. The major challenges we face in our project management is occasioned by poor funding, inadequate equipment to execute the projects, absence of technical expertise, economic and political instabilities.

INCOME

Money received through GlobalGiving brought forward from the last project report = $45

This project has not started yet. It requires enough capital to start. A lot of widows are in dare need of help. Poverty is the main barrier for sustainable development and conservation. As widows earn a little, they become very much underprivileged. Even their children are considered as burden for their family. They do not get the opportunity to study and get married at an early age. Having various health hazards and immature pregnancy are imminent. To overcome this peculiar situation, there is no alternative of widow's empowerment. So, we should focus on their income generating activities.

The goal of this project is to drive away poverty and establish widow's position at home and in the society. Unfortunately, many widows are the worst sufferer in this prospect, most of them go about begging to support their family. They are not given priority in family decision making for their poor income. Self-income generating activities can tackle this problem.

As the crises rages on, insecurity, uncertainty, and humanitarian needs abound. We are committed to providing humanitarian services to the less privileged and vulnerable people especially widows in rural communities.

Moreso, the September Little by Little Matching Campaign is right around the corner once again. GlobalGiving’s September 2022 Little by Little campaign will last 5 days, from September 12, 2022, at 00:00:00 EDT to September 16, 2022, at 23:59:59 EDT. During the September 2022 Little by Little campaign, all eligible donations up to $50 USD per unique donor per organization will be matched at 50% for the duration of the campaign.
