This project will build an orphanage training centre where 500 orphans in Lira district, northern Uganda will acquire basic skills and spiritual growth. Project Goal; To empower the vulnerable youth for self-reliance Project Objectives; To train orphans in tailoring, bread making, sandal making, hair dressing, modern farming techniques like poultry, raising tree seedlings for planting, growing cabbages, tomatoes, pineapples and onions
There are very many orphans who have been left wondering on streets due to loss of a parent (s) as a result of HIV/AIDS which is widely spread, accidents, death at birth etc. Others have no way to find food to eat and have ended up in stealing and prostitution as a business in order to earn a living, the number of school drop outs has greatly increased and others have ended up in marijuana smoking due to idleness.
Ladder Ministries will build a centre whereby these orphans will be mentored spiritually and physically with basic life skills training for better life and hopeful future. After completion of training each orphan will be empowered with materials to start up their own business. The seedlings raised will be planted at their homes to increase their household income through sales of fruits. Other products will be sold to sustain the project and others for feeding the orphans at the centre.
The project will educate 500 orphans allowing them to be self-reliant and able to support their families hence walking out of poverty and living a better life
