As alluded to in the last report, schools were invited to participate in a Creativity in the Library Contest. The winners will be funded to show their stuff at the conference in November.
A dozen contesting team have submitted their application per attached questionaire designed by Dr Winnie Wong et al.
With this method, all participants will learn the underlying principles of MakerSpace, namely, Understand, Learn, Design, Plan, Do.
Guide by their teachers and mentors, middle and high school students are challenged to use their creativity to complete two tasks:
TASK 1: Design a Makerspace for Your School
TASK 2: Complete a Hands-On Maker Project Based on Your Students’ Interests and/or Your Community Needs
A panel of judges will score according to predefined characteristics.
Dr Wong has shared her excitement based on the quality of the materials received.
Concurrently, world renowned Speakers have been engaged. One can find them in the website below with a rolling list of their appearances at the bottom half of the screen.
