Thanks to a partnership with Ford Brazil, teenagers have had access from September to December for 2 hours per week of computer courses, funding from Ford having made it possible to employ a teacher. What a great opportunity for them to discover almost essential tools these days to find a job. Every Friday we took then the teenagers at the pastoral center in the room computer science of the PROCAPAZ project (A course project professional of the João de Deus association) where João Paulo, the teacher was waiting for us there.
Word, Excel, Powerpoint were Chinese words for our young people on the first day. A semester later, they know how to write a document, make PowerPoint presentation slides or even make a calculation table on Excel! We were truly amazed by their capacity for learning and involvement. in these courses. As a reward, they each received a diploma at the end of the year.not in computers. What a joy to see their smiles on this occasion! For many of them, it is their first diploma, the first time that they receive a mark of their accomplished work. “I’m going to frame it above my bed,” Davi exclaims, “Oh no, my little brother is going to frame it for me.” "If I do the same, I'll put it away carefully" Julia retorts.
This project was a great success that we hope to be able to repeat!
