Dear Friend,
Warmest greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project improving biodiversity in Misamis. Our place is very rich in biodiversity but these are losing very quickly due to intrusion of poor farmers going up the mountains in order to find land to till and to raise food. Because this situation could not be avoided due to population pressure, we are promoting crop diversification or the growing of cash crops, trees and vegetables so that farmers can have something to eat at the same time improving the situation in the mountainsides. Towards this, we focused our attention during this reporting period to developing a model farm wherein farmers can train and at the same time access much-needed farming inputs like seeds and planting materials. Our demonstration and training farm is 6 hectares and located in a municipality in Misamis. We are growing corn, banana, vegetables, legumes, upland rice, ginger and other crops. Soon we will open the are for our training activities.
Thank you very much for your support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
