Five glorious young Congolese women in their 3rd year of university have been bereft of a sponsor. All 5 are pursuing either medical doctor or law degrees, endeavoring to realize their passions for bringing female perspective, capacity and competency to these professions, in compassionate service of their communities. SAFECO is endeavoring to take responsibility for ensuring funding for their degrees, as we have done for dozens of other Congolese children.
Three years ago, The Ring Project asked SAFECO to help them find 10 female high school graduates to sponsor for university. SAFECO vetted 10 wonderful candidates, but then The Ring Project only selected 5. SAFECO then took on sponsorship for the 5 young women that weren't selected. Unfortunately, The Ring Project has now folded and so their 5 students are in limbo. Please help SAFECO to secure financing for these powerful young women to continue studying for their Univeristy degrees.
These 5 young women have been doing great in their university studies, advancing toward their law and medical degrees. With your help, SAFECO will be able to keep these future female lawyers and doctors on track to earn their degrees.
The medical and law professions in the Democratic Republic of Congo are woefully lacking female doctors and lawyers. In this "worst place in the world to be a woman", according to the UN, women need women doctors and lawyers to take their cases.
