7amleh works for a free, fair, & safe digital space for all Palestinians. However, Palestinian digital rights are being attacked. There's concerted efforts to silence & censor Palestinian voices & narratives. Since the beginning of the war on Gaza, we documented nearly 3000 Palestinian digital rights violations & spent countless hours pushing social media companies to reinstate erroneously removed content & protect individuals' accounts in a bid to safeguard their right to freedom of expression.
During these difficult days, social media companies made the situation even worse for Palestinians. 7amleh's violence indicator documented over 2.5 million pieces of harmful content allowed online advocating for racist & violent attacks on Palestinians. Meta systematically shadowbanned, taken down content & restricted accounts of many people posting about Palestinian rights.Also, Meta recently rolled out a series of generative AI tools that reinforced dehumanizing stereotypes about Palestinians.
7amleh has already succeeded in reinstating hundreds of erroneously removed content, lifting account restrictions & protecting hundreds of individuals' accounts on social media. We're also removing hundreds of harmful, violent & inciting posts. And we launched the first-ever AI-generated hate speech indicator to monitor anti-Palestinian racism & incitement to violence online. However, to continue this important work & scale our efforts to match the scope of the problem, we need your help!
For decades, the international community has been in the dark about what is happening in Israel & Palestine.
