Dear Global Givers,
Both Kiran and Pooja are privileged and humbled to receive your support to continue with their education. Your support allows them both to focus on their studies and enjoy their time at the boarding school. The scholarship support has made a huge difference for Kiran and Pooja and we hope the girls will use this opportunity and do well in life.
Update on Kiran and Pooja
Kiran is enjoying her time at the boarding school. She enjoys taking part in extracurricular activities such as sports, dancing, and cooking. She has also started learning how to play the sitar (an Indian string instrument). She will be appearing for her final exams in April for Class 10. She has also enrolled herself to take extra classes for those subjects that she is not very confident in. Kiran regularly attends all her classes and she is putting in extra effort to do well in her exams. The residential school has helped Kiran to become confident and smart. With students coming from different states to study at her school, Kiran has learned new things in terms of diversity in culture, language, and festivals celebrated across the country.
Pooja has shown significant improvement in her academics and her social behavioural skills over the last quarter. During a recent interaction, she mentioned that now she is determined to become a police officer after completing her studies, while earlier she aspired to be a teacher. As a police officer, she wants to enforce stricter laws to save girls from trafficking. At the boarding school, Pooja takes care of her diet and eats healthy food. She also runs every morning and evening to improve her fitness levels. She is coping well and catching up with her schoolmates. Pooja is well aware that other girls from her community are not as lucky as her. She is keen to become a role model for girls in her community. Her favourite subject is Hindi. At the moment, Pooja is preparing for her final exams to be held in April for the Class 12 standard. Whenever there are extra classes or group studies with her friends, Pooja will be the first to show up. She hopes to get good marks in her final exams. The team on the ground continues to support Pooja’s family to resolve their challenges related to financing and health.
Every child has the power to succeed in school and in life and girls like Kiran and Pooja are lucky enough to receive scholarship support. However, many more girls are on the verge of dropping out of school due to extreme poverty. We at iPartner India would continue to advocate for girls’ education and hope that all stakeholders in the community will be able to value girls’ education and work collectively to ensure girls can stay in school. Kiran and Pooja have the potential to become powerful role models and contribute greatly to their success in the communities.
Thank you once again Global Givers, for your generous contribution. On behalf of the girls, we acknowledge and appreciate your ongoing commitment to helping Kiran and Pooja to finish school.
With deep gratitude,
Team iPartner India
