Dear Donor,
Thanks to your continued support, we are sustaining a broad community-led approach to Ebola containment that brings together prevention, hygiene, awareness, household support, early reporting, and preparedness.
The current Bundibugyo virus disease outbreak demonstrates why no single intervention is enough. Effective response requires surveillance, contact tracing, clinical preparedness, infection prevention, supplies, community engagement, and coordination across borders. WHO continues to identify all of these areas as important components of the regional response.
Our community-focused work complements these broader response efforts by helping families understand prevention measures and encouraging practical action at the local level.
As of 29 September, DRC had recorded 8,224 confirmed cases and 3,982 deaths, while Uganda had successfully completed its outbreak response period.
Your support is helping communities remain informed, prepared, and resilient throughout this public-health emergency.
