Dear Donors,
We extend sincere appreciation to the donors who have shown support for the Urgent Food Aid for Families Facing Acute Hunger project. Your compassion for families facing severe hardship is deeply valued. At this stage, however, the funds received remain too limited for the food distribution program to begin.
In several parts of Northern Nigeria, many families are struggling to find enough food to eat each day. Rising food prices, repeated flooding, and ongoing insecurity have made it difficult for households to maintain stable sources of income. Crops have been lost, markets disrupted, and many families now rely on irregular help from neighbors or small community support.
For households already living with limited resources, the lean season makes conditions even more difficult. Children, pregnant women, and elderly family members are among those most affected when meals become scarce. Without steady access to nutritious food, families face increased risk of illness and poor health.
This project is designed to provide monthly food packs to 500 families who are experiencing acute hunger. Each pack will contain basic staples such as rice, beans, garri, vegetable oil, and seasoning to help households prepare daily meals. Local suppliers will be used to obtain the food items, and organized distribution will help confirm that every family receives fair access to the supplies.
Providing regular food support during this difficult period can help families remain stable and prevent further hardship. It also allows parents to focus on caring for their children rather than worrying about where the next meal will come from.
We are grateful for the kindness already shown by donors who believe in helping families through this challenging time. With additional support, this project will be able to begin delivering food assistance to the households that urgently need it.
Sincerely,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
