The city of Venice has been passing through an extremely difficult period: in fall 2019, high water caused several disruptions, while lockdown in spring 2020 and the following anti-contagious measures, due to the worldwide Covid-19 emergency, led its tourism to touch a zero lower bound.
These facts, combined with the continuing of the pandemic in 2021, have convinced Specchio dei tempi about the necessity to help Venice once more: between September and October 2020, the project "Venice again" has seen 20 small businesses being supported by Specchio, which donated 3.000euros to each of them. Potters and restorers, cobblers and glass blowers, engravers and merchants, goldsmiths and boat builders: several different categories had the opportunity to get a help and raise their heads again in this complicated moment.
By replying similar projects organized in her hometown Turin, Specchio launched a fundraising campaing not only in Venice, but also Cuneo and Sassari: all together, in the four towns we have helped 400 small enterpresises with more than 1.6 million euros.
Thank you for all your support. Our work continues in Venice, and in Italy overall, to bring hope wherever it's needed.
