On January 14th, 2024, Virtues for Kenya, Kakamega graduated thirteen new Facilitators at the Kakamega Sports Club. The group, comprised mainly of teachers from Kakamega and Nyanza regions, underwent thorough training in the Virtues and completed all the steps required to graduate as a Virtues Facilitator. Virtues training empowers people with the Five Strategies of The Virtues Project.
This event was organized and brought together through a concerted effort from a variety of organizations and individuals across the world to ensure that Virtues training is prioritized as a way of instilling integrity in the community. Virtues training among different cadres of society was stressed, so that everybody, whether employed or not, could receive this training.
Steps undertaken in the training process require that all those who have completed the Facilitator Training offer presentations to small groups as the opportunity arises or assist another Facilitator. To be able to conduct full training workshops, a Facilitator must have been a practitioner of the Virtues for more than a year, must demonstrate they are a practitioner of the Virtues and must attend additional training with a Master Facilitator. This training requires people who can speak publicly with authority and confidence to business groups, church organizations, government officials, and university students. By the end of their training, these Facilitators should be prepared to organize and conduct a full workshop alone or with a trainee facilitator.
While addressing the graduates, our keynote speaker, Prof. Gordon Nguka reiterated the need to have officers in all higher institutions within Western Kenya undergo this training. Prof. Nguka noted that such training will be a big boost to the government in its quest to fight corruption and other vises like nepotism and tribalism among governmental and non-governmental institutions.
These new Facilitators were given the mandate to go out and train people on good morals to shape society. This training helps resolve problems such as lack of integrity and respect, disunity, bullying, discipline, and power struggles while encouraging people to achieve their potential.
We thank you for your compassion and continued support of our program. Your donations cover the costs of training and materials.
