Project Report | May 2, 2024
Third Quarter of 2023

By Ana Carolina Haber | fundraising coordinator

Dear donors,

Here are the latest updates on Vision's development!

The Vision Project, is a data-for-good technology project that aims to address the challenges encountered in registering those assisted by NGOs and managing activities. We have developed a platform that digitizes information about the assisted, families, and the organizations' actions, providing valuable data to optimize management and direct donations and opportunities. The organization's interaction with the community is active, based on local needs, and partner NGOs play a crucial role in this process. Bi-monthly events bring together local entrepreneurs, community leaders, and various stakeholders, contributing to strengthening productivity and engagement in Rocinha. The training sessions enhance digital literacy, data intelligence, and artificial intelligence for Rocinha by Rocinha.

In the last 12 months, we have registered 12 local leaders to actively participate in our activities.

Total events held: Six events were held throughout the year 2023, providing networking and interaction opportunities among community members, NGOs, and external partners.

Total people reached: Considering an average of 30 people per event, it is estimated that the project reached a total of 200 people throughout the year 2023.

Total partnerships closed and results: During the analyzed period, 10 partnerships were closed, resulting in significant benefits for the Rocinha community. Some of the results of these partnerships include in-person fundraising mini-courses, food donations, provision of computers, and internet access for Vision Ecosystem projects.

Courses offered and total participants per course:

  • Course 1: English platform research with Single Black Mothers; - 130 black women.
  • Course 2: Data Citizen - Social Good Brazil - 12 local leaders.
  • Course 3: Workshop Unveiling Fundraising - 25 local leaders.

Total people reached:

  • The total number of participants across all courses/workshops was 167 people positively impacted.

Thank you very much for being part of this transformational community that is bridging the technological gap in the Rocinha favela communities, the largest favela in the world. Now more than ever, our people rely on the generosity of individuals like you to help us keep our heads high and our hearts strong as we ensure a bright future for the residents here. The challenges are great, but we move forward confidently with the assurance of having you, donors, by our side and the Rocinha community in our hearts.

Warm regards, FAVELA INC AND VISION.
