Dear Donor,
we hope you are well! Since you haven't heard from us for a while, we'd like to bring you up to date with our work.
AFGHANISTAN
Ramadan Emergency Relief
As every year, it was important to us to support families in need during Ramadan. Our partner organisation distributed food parcels, reaching 177 people: 150 children with disabilities and 27 orphans and half-orphans - around 95 of whom are girls. Each parcel supplies a family of five to seven for 2-3 months and includes 50kg flour, 24kg rice, 10kg peas, 10kg beans, 1kg tea, 5kg sugar, 10l oil, 2 packs of pasta, 3kg tomato paste, 2 bars of soap and a shampoo.
Thanks to your support, we were even able to reach surpluses, which will be channelled into our project work in Afghanistan.
Goldsmith training program
There is also news from the goldsmith training program in Kabul. In March, the trainees learnt how to make rings, necklaces and bracelets independently through demonstrations and practical exercises. The participants made particularly good progress in the production of jewelery settings. The trainees' English skills have also improved significantly. Reading and listening comprehension as well as grammar comprehension were taught intensively using a wide range of teaching materials. Through language and communication exercises, the participants learnt how to communicate appropriately in English in their everyday lives.
UGANDA
Last month, our team went on a project trip to Uganda. In Kampala, we met with multiple organisations such as Girl Up, which campaign for education, health and girls' rights. Further north, around Lira, we visited schools with our partners that are making real progress thanks to new classrooms, water supply and hygiene projects - but where financial poverty, a lack of infrastructure and long distances to school continue to make everyday life difficult. In Moroto, we learned how highly integrated projects - from school gardens to WASH programmes - can enrich children's lives.
Our greatest learning of the trip: Education is far more than just school lessons. It means protection, future and self-determination.
We would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU! Without you, our work would not be possible.

Until then all the best,
