Student Voices: Learning Comes Alive Through Agribusiness

By Jacqueline Tchouassi Audige | FoUNDER

At Coretech Kamarie, students are not just learning about agribusiness—they are living it.

Since the project began, students have taken active roles in planting, watering, and caring for crops, transforming their school environment into a space of creativity, discovery, and pride.

Many students share that agribusiness has helped them understand why practical education matters. Lessons in accounting and mathematics now feel real as students observe plant growth, measure progress, and solve challenges together.

Marie explained, "When I see the plants growing, I feel proud because I helped make it happen. It makes me   want to come to school every day."

For girls in particular, the project has built confidence and strong leadership skills. Students who were once quiet now volunteer ideas, ask questions, and guide their peers. Working together in the garden has encouraged teamwork and mutual respect, helping students see themselves as capable contributors to their school and community.

Agribusiness has also changed how students relate to responsibility. Caring for crops requires consistency and patience—values students now apply to their studies.

As Silvain shared, "If I don't water the plants, they suffer. It taught me that my work and my studies need the same care."

Thanks to GlobalGiving donors, students at Coretech Kamarie are discovering that learning extends beyond the classroom walls.

Your support is helping young people build skills, confidence, and hope—one plant, one lesson, and one voice at a time.
