From Seed to Pride: Students Harvest an Unexpected Success

By Jacqueline Audige | FOUNDER

Something remarkable is growing at Coretech Kamarie.

Recently, our students proudly harvested their first crop of large, organic tomatoes from the school garden—a sight that surprised not only the students themselves but also many families in the surrounding village.

Tomatoes of this size and quality are rarely seen in the local community.

This achievement is the result of the student-led agribusiness learning program, where young people learn agriculture through direct experience. Instead of studying farming only in textbooks, students prepare the soil, plant seeds, care for crops, and monitor growth throughout the season.

When the harvest finally arrived, the excitement was unforgettable. Students gathered around baskets overflowing with bright red tomatoes—proof that their patience, teamwork, and dedication had paid off.

For many students, this moment represented more than just a successful harvest. It was a powerful lesson in innovation, perseverance, and self-confidence.

Pascaline proudly said:

"We planted these ourselves and watched them grow every day. Seeing the tomatoes this big makes us feel proud because we know we did it together."

Beyond the classroom, the project is already inspiring curiosity in the surrounding community. Parents and neighbors are asking students about the techniques used to grow these healthy crops.

It is exactly the kind of learning Coretech Kamarie strives to provide—education that connects knowledge with real life and empowers young people with practical skills.

Your support through GlobalGiving helps make these experiences possible. With your continued encouragement, students will expand the garden, experiment with new crops, and continue building the confidence and skills that will shape their futures.

Thank you for believing in these students and helping them cultivate opportunity.

With gratitude,

The Aumazo Team
