By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader
Dear Donors,
Thank you for your generous support toward our project, Walkie-talkies for Aid Workers in No-signal Region. Your contribution reflects a strong commitment to the safety of frontline responders working in some of the most difficult and high-risk areas of Nigeria.
I am writing to provide an update on the project’s status. Although we have received early donations, the funds raised so far are not yet sufficient to begin procurement of the walkie-talkies. As you know, the project requires the purchase of 100 devices to ensure full coverage and functionality for humanitarian teams working in areas without mobile network access. To proceed effectively and avoid leaving any team under-equipped, we must reach the minimum amount needed to secure the full batch of radios.
While we continue to work toward the funding goal, our team is actively carrying out preparatory steps. This includes supplier verification, cost updates, logistics planning, and identifying deployment locations with the highest need. These actions will ensure that once we reach the required financial threshold, implementation can start immediately and distribution can be done without delays.
Your early support is meaningful. Communication gaps continue to put aid workers and affected communities at risk during conflicts, floods, and other emergencies. This project remains vital, and your donation brings us closer to providing responders with the tools they need to stay safe and save lives.
We will keep you updated as we progress. Thank you again for standing with us in this effort to protect frontline teams and strengthen emergency response in underserved regions.
Sincerely,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic K.
