Dear Donors,
We sincerely appreciate the donors who have supported the Walkie-talkies for Aid Workers in No-signal Region project. Your concern for the safety of frontline responders working in high risk areas is truly valued. At this stage, however, the support received so far cannot yet cover the initial purchase and distribution of the communication devices.
In many parts of Nigeria affected by conflict, flooding, or insecurity, mobile network coverage is either weak or completely unavailable. Aid workers and medical teams operating in these locations often have no reliable way to communicate with one another during emergencies.
Without communication tools, teams may struggle to coordinate movement, share alerts, or call for help when danger arises. This can delay response efforts and place both responders and affected communities at greater risk. In fast moving situations, even a short delay can lead to serious consequences.
This project is designed to provide 100 walkie talkies to frontline workers so they can stay connected even in areas without mobile signal. These radios will allow teams to communicate instantly, coordinate relief efforts, and respond more effectively during emergencies.
Reliable communication can improve safety for responders and help them reach people in need more quickly. It also supports better coordination during rescue efforts and allows teams to operate with greater confidence in difficult environments.
We are grateful for the support already shown toward this effort. With additional contributions, it will be possible to move forward and place these devices in the hands of those working on the front lines.
Sincerely,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
