Update and Invitation

By Mastora Bakhiet | Project Leader

Hello our friends and our donors,

Thank you so much for your genersous support and for your tireless standing with us. We appreciate it.

The Darfur Women Network (DWN) has experienced the most financial hardships due to COVID-19 since we partnered with GlobalGiving in 2013. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide goods to the survivors of genocide in the camps despite dire needs for food, sanitation, and water.  Without your support, we will not be able to achieve our goals. Your endless support and donations will help us to meet an urgent need of soap and water to enable the refugees to survive to stay sanitize during the pandemic.

More than three hundred thousand survivors of genocide are women and children- facing dire living conditions. They are still vulnerable to hunger, disease, malnutrition, and poor sanitation and health risks due to COVID-19.

This vulnerable population reflects the critical need for emergency interventions such as, raising community awareness about the pandemic, implementing quarantine and isolation spaces, distribution of personal protection equipment (PPEs), and providing them with basic necessities, such as, of food, clean drinking water, sanitation and health services.

Through our strong ties with refugee camps, Darfur Women Network (DWN) is engaged in community outreach to raise awareness to reduce the plight of COVID-19.

With your donation we were able to purchase safety tools for our volunteers to go 25 meters down in water wells to dig and to clean to make water available for the communities.  The compensation of your support and their sacrifices will help the Darfur refugees in the Touloum camp in Chad to survive the COVID 19 outbreak. Darfur refugees are in need of your help and contribution will make an impact.  Any amount of support helps.   Please vist our prpject to doante Water Project (44315)
