Dear Darfur Women Network's friends and supporters,
Greetings,
Darfur Women Network,Inc.,DWN, would like to express our gratitude for your generosity and support. With your generosity and your support during this difficult time, the DWN has been able to provide essential services to the refugees from Darfur in Touloum camp in Chad.
DWN helped the refugees with the help of volunteers to clean up the buried drinking water wells in the camp for years. However, this year, DWN responds to the refugees’ feedback by continuing in providing two water containers to each refugee family.
Why are water containers important?
The refugees retrieve water from wells in water containers. They use the same water container as water storage in the house. The refugees are prohibited from work and have no income. Thus, they can’t afford to purchase water containers. They must melt the broken water containers to weld the container holes. Our response to these needs is by distributing water containers to 200 refugees with disability and to families that have no financial support. Two water containers were given to each family. Water containers are still needed.
