Filmmaker Fellow in Focus: African Scientist

By Miles B. | Director

Dear GlobalGiving Community,
My name is Miles B and I am a proud WeOwnTV filmmaker fellow. This month I have been given the privelage and opportunity to update you on my documentary which is called African Scientist. My film tells the story of Sahr, a young inventor, shunned by his community for his eccentricities, designs and creates incredible new inventions and even language. He forges ahead using household materials like jerry cans, scrap metals, plastics and recycled materials to better his community.
My At the moment the documentary almost done with our first draft editing. We are still regularly visiting Sahr with plans for future filming. Sahr invented his own telephone system recently where he can call any network worldwide for free and still helping his community with lights.

As part of his plans, he want to invent vehicle that can carry up to 18 passengers and above. The vehicle will be using air and water to run. Sahr is also seeking help from international NGOs to get his working tools for work.

This year I also started working on another great project with my colleagues from WeOwnTV. The film is called The New Boats (Chi-gie Chorga)

Working on these projects has been my greatest pride for me in these past years. Connecting with my communities and telling the untold stories of my country is what I have been put on this earth to do and I give a profound thank you to WeOwnTV for their ongoing support ofmy work. I also want to thank all of you for supporting this important initiative and helping give support and encouragement to West African creative minds, it has gone along way to help us develop our ideas and share them with the world.
With great appreciation!
Miles B.
