Protect 30 girl children at risk of prostitution

It has been two years since COVID-19 has spread rapidly within and between countries across the globe. With the unstable circumstance causing by the appearance and spread of COVID-19 over the country, we have witnessed a far-reaching impact on all aspects of the families in our program. The most deprived and marginalized children are being hit the hardest by the pandemic, exacerbating existing inequalities and pushing the most vulnerable children even further behind. Fortunately, our children are very resilient, hopeful, and resourceful.

Thanks to your support, we organized diversity activities throughout the school year and ensured 100% of the girls in the program continue going to school without fears of tuition fees.

In last August, during the Mid-autumn season activity, we teach the young girls make a traditional star lantern. We believe creativity goes hand in hand with imagination. And, imagination is crucial to problem solving, thinking outside of the box and being able to immerse oneself in many pursuits. That’s why craft session is always a part of our activity!

In last September, we also carried out one of the most vital activities of the program every year : the annual evaluation. This is a process of collecting and analyzing information from all beneficiaries (the girls and their caregivers) in order to understand the effectiveness and the ongoing operations of the program, as well as promote communication and provide useful feedback about the program and staff. This is a crucial step helping us improve the impact and performance of our work every year.

From October to December, we held workshops on Comprehensive sexuality education and Internet Safety was conducted by AAT for the children of "Where Dreams Bloom" program. The objective is to ensure that young people are receiving high quality, life skills-based, sexuality education to gain the knowledge and skills to make safe, healthy and respectful choices about sexuality and relationships.

This year we happily publish the 4th edition booklet of the program, that records our meaningful journey with beneficiaries, donors, volunteers and many other great ones who share the mutual objective of lighting the dreams of the young girls through education.

Last but not least, we would like to send our welcome to Phuong An, our new program intern. She has been in charge of supporting and following the girls in the Where Dreams Bloom program since October 2022. It’s a great pleasure for us to have contributed to her professional growth.

In June, we took the girls in our program to Jump Arena - The largest trampoline amusement park in Vietnam. At the end of this school year, our girls also had a great time at Dam Sen Water Park. Relaxing and spending time together is always what we do to heal after a hardworking school year.

One month ago, we had a trip to Madagui eco-tourism to mingle with nature and enjoy the endless summer for three days. This is the fouth consecutive year we organize the trip, which aims to give the children opportunities to extend learning outside classrooms, to get away from technology and step outside of their usual routine; more importantly, they will become an more independent and responsible young person when traveling without their parents or tutors.

Madagui is an ecological area of Cat Tien National Park, one of the six largest biosphere reserves in the world. We had many meaningful activities such as camping, participating in team-building games, visiting caves and vegetation. We believe that this activity helps children learn how to share, live in a group as well as spread awareness about protecting forests and the environment for children growing up in the city.

The celebration of the new school year takes place in August every year. During this occasion all of the girls and their parents are invited to participate in interactive activities designed to connect the participants.

Setting girl children up for success by supplying their education is the main goal of the Where Dreams Bloom project. We would like to extend our gratitude to GeoComply, who provided us a perfect accommodation for our activity and donated school supplies for our girls.

Last but not least, we would like to send you our great news that Thu Tram, our program intern already successfully completed the 2-month internship period. It’s a great pleasure for us to have contributed to her professional growth. Also, we send our thanks to her for all of the efforts and energy she has brought to work everyday.

The ongoing involvement of youth in the roles of collaborators, volunteers or interns in the program not only bring a source of positive energy to the girls but also become role models for in gaining more independence and taking their first steps towards their future as an adult.
