Mekong Delta
Mekong Delta

How are you doing? We hopre you are doing great!

In March, we took the girls in our program to Mekong Delta, Vietnam. The location is the largest delta of Vietnam and currently home to 17 million people, whose livelihoods depend mainly on agricultural. The region has supplied more than half of rice production of country. It is also recognized as one of the regions most vulnerable to climate change.

We are so grateful for this opportunity to take the girls in our program to visit this special destination and introduce them the big challenges people in the region (especially Ben Tre province) are facing, including sea level rising, soil salinity, upstream dam construction in Mekong river and the ways people use to adapt to the situation.

We believe the activity helps spread awareness about climate change to the children who grow up in the city, as well as makes them think about things they could to to prevent global warming.

Our program would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to our staff and volunteers for their hard work and dedication. This activity couldn’t have been as successful without their involvement!

We are thrilled to have Geocomply and Dirox, the two well-known technology companies in Vietnam, officially established the partnership with our organization to promote the development on effectiveness of preventive mechanisms in community, and increasing community awareness of sexual abuse and exploitation, human trafficking and other related risks.

This month we are going to collaborate with GeoComply to organize a career orientation with the topic “I learn about the Information Technology (IT) career”. The activity not only aims to equip them with an understanding and knowledge of the IT career but also encourages them to expand their though about the wide range of career choices in a non-stereotype way: “Technology is suitable only for boys. This is wrong. Everyone have their own ability to do things the like”. We will update you the activity in our next letter.

As we go forward, we’ll be sure to keep you updated and know that we always value your questions, ideas and feedback. Please send us email via: vnaction@allianceantitrafic.org if you have any questions about our program.

We are always grateful for your support!

Best regards,

AAT Vietnam
