Dear Wigs for a Smile Supporters,

As we reflect on our journey together, we are filled with gratitude for the unwavering support that allows us to continue providing natural hair wigs to children and youth across Bosnia and Herzegovina who are experiencing permanent or temporary hair loss. Over the past months, we have delivered four wigs to young girls aged 14-17 from Tesanj, Prnjavor, Brcko, and Bosanski Brod. While a wig on a mannequin may appear elegant yet distant, the moment it touches the hands of these children, it transforms into something magical. Seeing the wigs worn by these brave individuals, blending so naturally, is truly phenomenal. It’s almost impossible to discern they are wigs, and most importantly, these children and young women feel beautiful, confident, and empowered—both physically and emotionally.

In addition to new wig deliveries, our team completed four repairs on natural hair wigs, ensuring continued comfort and usability for our cherished wig recipients.

The Wigs for a Smile project is a testament to the power of community and compassion. Each step of this journey—from heartfelt hair donations to the smiles of wig recipients—tells a beautiful story. We extend our gratitude to the patients and wig users who allow us to share their photos and stories, inspiring others with their courage and joy.

In October 2024, we held our annual hair donation campaign at Sarajevo City Center, which became one of our most impactful events of the year. Thanks to your support, we collected an incredible 285 hair donations from individuals of all ages and walks of life—girls, boys, men, and women from across Bosnia and Herzegovina. This success would not have been possible without the efforts of more than 36 hairdressers and 33 dedicated volunteers who united to make this event a reality.

In November 2024, we organized an additional hair donation event at Skender Kulenovic Elementary School, collecting 12 more hair donations with the invaluable assistance of two professional hairdressers.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported this project, both offline and online. Your involvement—whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading awareness—has been the driving force behind our ability to bring smiles to the faces of so many children and young people.
