Empower a Girl: For Self-Reliance

As confirmed cases of COVID-19 continue to rise as of May 28, 2020: the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended that, everyone should wear a cloth mask when they go out in public to avoid spread of the scourge.

To supplement the effort of Government of Uganda; who promised to distribute face masks to control the spread of the disease among its citizen; Kole Intellectual Forum would like to report to you that, they have joined them and the rest of the world in contributing into slowing the spread of the virus in Uganda and help those people who may have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others; by providing them with cloth face mask made from their Academy; detailed at: https://www.globalgiving.org/dy/v2/pe/progress-report/edit-progress-report.html?project.projId=31562&progressReport.id=141594

As we wait for the time to focus in our endeavors to promote quality, sustainable, and potential education in public schools in Uganda; we have so far directed our activities to address the issues at hand: protect the communities of Uganda from global threats – COVID-19

"COVID-19 as the world's most dangerous threat" according to UNICEF (2020); in education sector alone, in the view of the report: about 1.53 billion learners are out of school and 184 country-wide schools are closed, impacting 87.6% of the world's total enrolled learners; Kole Intellectual Forum, that is, promoting quality, sustainable and potential education in Uganda; has modified its action to include preventing the pandemic by promoting an hygiene at home, schools and in the hospitals.

Although armed conflict has been the waste global catastrophe; with the declaration of COVID-19 by WHO on the 11th March 2020, the pandemic has not just been a public health crisis; but rather, a crisis that was expected to touch every sector; and by 24/5/2020 close to about 343,983 people globally have already lost their lives to the scourge according to COVID-19 Worldometer (2020). This describes the magnitude to which this pandemic needs to be prevented from spreading to where it can be controlled.

Given that: the spread of the virus is scaling down globally, but on the other hand raising in Uganda; with the advice from World Health Organization that: Handwashing remains the No. 1 tip for preventing the spread of COVID-19; Kole Intellectual Forum is therefore contented that, to promote quality, sustainable and potential education in Northern Uganda, Kole district; the organization would like to report to you that: it has modified its activities to include advocating for the prevention of COVID-19 by providing homes, schools and Hospitals with liquid soap and face masks.

If we can protect the lives of our communities from this dangerous threat; our children at schools will be able to perform well. Hence, globally, we will recovery from the aftermath threat of this virus.
