WOMEN'S WORK IN THE RESTORATION OF THE SALTY FORES

Las mujeres de la comunidad de Barra de Santiago han comprendido la necesidad de este recurso para la supervivencia de sus familias. Su uso les permite no solo obtener alimentos, sino también vivienda, leña y otros recursos que les permiten sobrevivir y diversificar la dieta familiar.

Por eso es necesario recuperar y mantener este recurso. Las mujeres se han comprometido a implementar diferentes técnicas eficaces para la recuperación a largo plazo de este ecosistema. Están mejorando la hidrología de uno de los canales que alimenta una zona impactada, donde podría haber un aumento en las poblaciones de especies como peces, camarones, cangrejos, etc.

Por eso, con palas y esfuerzo humano, están abriendo gradualmente la zona para impulsar el sistema hidrológico y mejorar su eficacia en el terreno. Esto genera jornadas de trabajo en el campo donde las mujeres se emplean como empleo verde, y al mismo tiempo, es un trabajo que contribuye a mejorar su calidad de vida y la de sus hogares.
