Announcing Our Newest Scholarship Opportunity!

Dear Friends,

We are excited to share our most recent updates from our project, Support Women Scientists Saving Endangered Wildlife! In 2026, we are reintroducing our scholarship program for women scientists alongside ACHerpetología, the Colombian Association of Herpetology. We announced this newest partnership at the 4th Colombian Herpetology Congress held in Santa Marta at the beginning of December. We will be offering five scholarships to young Colombian women researchers studying amphibians and reptiles. These scholarships are poised to strengthen women’s participation in conservation science; they will cover costs associated with research such as fieldwork, educational materials, monitoring supplies, local transportation, or strengthening technical capacities.

Supporting young women scientists has endless benefits for their community as well as endangered species and habitats. Women build creative, sustaining solutions that intertwine community wellbeing with the health of local ecosystems. It is our goal to make conservation research more accessible to young women, a group that is often overlooked and lacks opportunities and support compared to their male peers.

To read more about the program as well as how to apply, see the full article here:

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting our movement! We hope you will consider continuing to contribute to the future of Women in Science, for the health of endangered species and rural communities.

Wishing you a Happy New Year,

The Women for Conservation Team
