A Training Center to Support 400 Women Every Year

Dear Friends,

Thank you for your donations of USD 5967, which are helping young girls from poor and marginalized backgrounds get trained in diversified skills. AWARD Pakistan has initiated several income generation courses (make-up art, industrial stitching, mobile repair for girls, and computer basics), which have been started in its resource center in Faisalabad. AWARD has also initiated a course for young women to get trained in bike riding, as this initiative is a step towards independence. So far, 350 girls have been trained through the center and have entered the earning circle.  

As more and more girls are getting enrolled in our courses, AWARD needs an extension in its building as it needs to build a training hall (for a capacity of 40 people) to train marginalized, school dropouts, and unskilled girls of Faisalabad in new trades.AWARD requires another USD 18,000 for this need. The training hall will be constructed with the following: 1) Financial Literacy; 2) Digital Freelancing 3) Jam making, 4) Pickle Making 5) Educational seminars 6) Traffic Rules 7) Life Skills; 9) Marketing and Digital Marketing Skills 10) Cookies and biscuit making 11) Commercial Cooking; 12) Toffee Making; and many more courses for the girls to sustain their livelihoods and support their families.

We would like to request that the GlobalGiving community support us in its completion to achieve our target of supporting 400 poor women and girls every year.

Story of Faiza:

""My name is Faiza, and my journey to becoming a beautician wasn’t easy. Before joining the AWARD Women Resource Centre, life was a constant struggle. I lived in a small town in Faisalabad, where opportunities for women were scarce, and my family faced financial difficulties. We barely made ends meet, and the thought of pursuing my dreams seemed impossible.

I heard about the beautification skills program offered by AWARD and decided to take a chance. The six-month course was intense; I had to manage household responsibilities and travel long distances to attend classes. There were days when I felt overwhelmed, but the support from my trainers and fellow classmates kept me going. The skills I learned were invaluable—from basic grooming to advanced techniques—and they gave me the confidence to start my own small beauty service from home.

Today, I run a successful beauty salon in my town. What once seemed like an unreachable dream has become my reality. I’m now able to contribute financially to my family, and the respect I’ve earned in my community is beyond measure. The skills I gained from AWARD didn’t just change my life; they empowered me to build a brighter future for myself and those around me.
