Dear Friends, Thank you for your donations of USD 3204 which is helping women and girls from poor background to get trained in diversified skills. AWARD Pakistan has initiated sevceral income generation courses (Make up art, Industrial Stitching, Mobile repairing for girls and Computer basics). which have been started in its resource center.
Two batches of women and girls have successfully completed these courses and are now in process of establishing their own businesses or getting a job through the skill.
In December 2021, AWARD Pakistan organized a certificate awarding ceremony for the girls who completed their training at AWARD Women Resource Center. The girls completed their courses in 4 different trades (mentioned above) . Nearly 30 girls completed their courses and got certification . These training will give these poor girls a chance to improve their socio-economic situation and to break taboos which do not allow these girls to propser. The girls were extremely excited after receiving the certification as they will now be in a position to earn and support their families.
We still require funds to do the finishing such as power genertors and outer tiles of the building. We are excited to receive the new batch of girls to the center who will be acquiring the training in the desired courses. To extend our building i-e building a hall (for the capacity of 40 people) to train marginalized, school dropout and unskilled girls of Faisalabad,AWARD requires another USD 18,000 and for this we need an urgent support from our donors and supporters. The training planned to be conducted in the new hall are: 1) Adult Literacy 2) Financial Literacy 3) Digital Freelancing 4) Jam making, Pickle Making, chicken farming 5) Educational seminars (Environment, Mother and Child Health, COVID-19 precauions, Importance of ID Card) 6) Traffic Rules 7) Communication skills 8) Life Skills 9) Marketing and Digital Marketing Skills 10) Income generation courses for girls and women 11) Cookies and Biscuits making 12) Commercial Cooking 13) Toffee making and Many more courses for the girls to sustain their livelihood and support their families.
We would like to request GlobalGiving community to support us in its completion to achieve our target to support 400 poor women and girls every year.
