Mental Health Training for Abuja Civil Servants

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear supporters,

We are appealing for your assistance to launch the “Workspace Mental Health Training for Civil Servants” project. No donations have been received yet, and your support is vital to help us reach 5,000 public servants across Abuja with practical mental health guidance.

Many civil servants face stress, anxiety, harassment, and abuse at work, including exploitation and pressure for promotions. These challenges are often hidden due to fear, stigma, or lack of knowledge. Poor mental wellbeing affects attendance, performance, and relationships, yet most offices have no systems to recognize or address these issues. Without intervention, the problem continues to impact workers and the wider workplace environment.

This project will provide training sessions for 5,000 civil servants, using simple, easy-to-understand materials and safe discussion spaces. Participants will learn to recognize signs of stress, burnout, and harassment, and will be guided on how to seek help or report concerns safely. Printed resources will reinforce lessons and allow employees to share what they learn with colleagues, creating awareness beyond the training sessions.

By equipping civil servants with practical knowledge and coping strategies, the project aims to improve mental wellbeing, encourage early reporting of abuse, and foster safer, more supportive workplaces. Over time, this training could help transform office culture, improve workplace relationships, and support employees in managing stress effectively.

Your contribution can make it possible to launch this program, reach thousands of workers, and create a healthier, safer environment for civil servants in Abuja.

Kind regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
