At YUM Community Library in Cipanas, we serve around 1,300 registered members, nearly 500 of them joined between 2020 and 2025. The library maintains a collection of approximately 8,500 books. It is open from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and welcomes around 30 children each day. In addition to providing quality reading resources, the library also offers a range of learning and creative activities for its members. Alongside STEM-related programs such as Computer and Science Clubs, the library members can also enjoy various fun activities that encourage creativity, curiosity, and a love for learning. Below are those activities:

Storytelling and Reading
Reading is part of the children’s daily routine. Older members read independently, while younger children join a weekly storytelling session. This semester, stories included Berbeda Itu Tak Apa, Aku Demam, and Di Bawah Tempat Tidur. Each session is usually attended by around 10 to 20 children.

Art & Craft
This session is held with participants from the Tutoring Program as a fun and relaxing activity after their learning sessions. This semester, the children made beaded bracelets, coin banks and photo frames from ice-cream sticks, origami crafts, and colorful keychains from chenille stems. The activity takes place at least twice a month and is one of the children’s favorites, as they enjoy being creative and taking their handmade creations home.

Drawing and Coloring
This flexible activity is very popular among library members. Some sessions include educational elements such as color-by-number or color-by-math activities, while older children work on more detailed drawings such as continental maps.

Let’s hear what HA dan FA, from Grade 1 said about the library: The books here are good and the stories are very fun. We like studying and playing here, especially when the teacher reads stories to us.”

The YUM Community Library continues to be a welcoming space where children can read, learn, and express their creativity. We are deeply grateful for the continued support of our donors, whose generosity helps make these opportunities possible for the children in our community.
