The world today’s children will enter as adults is being reshaped by technology at a pace that shows no sign of slowing. Yet, many young people in our community have had little or no meaningful opportunity to understand how the digital world works.
With the support of our donors and partners, F SSIBU Mission Foundation - Uganda is working to change this. Their contributions are helping us equip our computer hub with the tools and resources needed to introduce young people to coding, digital safety, responsible digital citizenship, and essential computer skills.
Through this support, young people are learning how software and websites are built, how to protect personal information online, how to identify scams and misinformation, and how to use digital platforms responsibly and respectfully. These skills are becoming increasingly essential, regardless of where a young person grows up.
The impact is already reaching beyond the computer hub. Young people are gaining confidence, discovering new possibilities, and beginning to see technology not only as something they consume, but as something they can create and use to improve their lives and communities. Early exposure to coding and digital tools can also open pathways to further education, employment, entrepreneurship, and careers that previously seemed inaccessible.
For families and communities, this investment helps reduce the digital divide. It gives young people practical knowledge that can protect them from online exploitation while increasing their ability to access information, opportunities, and services.
Every donor contribution is therefore more than support for computers or equipment. It is an investment in young people, their families, and the future of Mukono. By helping us equip the hub and expand digital learning, our donors are helping ensure that the next generation is prepared to participate in, rather than simply react to, a rapidly changing world.
