This is Alhassan Foundation's 1st report since we launched the "1st accessible bus for wheelchair users in Egypt". I ve to admit that I am flattered having friends, family & anonymous donors from all over the world - individuals as well as cooperation’s - believing & sharing in our cause.
Many of you sure know that there in NOTHING that is provided for wheelchair users in Egypt. Yet, instead of complaining, as the one & only foundation in Egypt & Middle East supporting the cause, we are being positive & give practical solutions through many projects that we r providing in Alhassan Foundation.
Regarding this project, through GlobalGiving during the past 3 months, we managed to have 66 new donors with a total of $7.372.... We still have $166,628 remaining to be able to buy & operate an accessible bus.
By the way, the reason why we decided to initiate the bus project is simply because we got 3 accessible wheelchair cars (the one & only in Egypt) that serve foundation members do their tasks, visits, work etc..... It is extremely successful, yet every car can serve only one person ... and we have currently a much larger number that is increasing by the day ... so we came up with the bus idea that for sure will facilitate the day to day living of many ... And that's only a start :)
I don’t want to keep on writing endlessly - although I would love to share with u more & more about our passion for wheelchair users :) ... until we meet again in another update, I will kindly ask you to share the project idea with 10 others & encourage them to donate ... So by next update I ll be having more then 500 donors.
