Thanks to incredible supporters like you, the Kruger team wrapped up the year with a total of 24 camera traps for 2019!
The 24 camera traps are currently located in Rietspruit, Buffaloland, Guernsey, and Balule!
An incredible total of 204,391 images were taken in 2019! This included 146 images of leopards and 2,203 images of nocturnal elusive species. December was also full of stopped hyenas, brown hyenas, and Lions!
The team has started to reposition the camera traps in Rietspruit to be better aligned with the paths that the species are taking since we now know their trails. As the grass and flora grows under the summer sun we have to be careful where we place the cameras so that there is nothing blocking the images.
2019 was an exciting year for the Adopt a Camera Trap project and we're excited to see it expand further in 2020 to help with the knowledge and awareness of these species!
