Computer Classes in 2021

By Elizabeth Appleyard | Program Administrator

In April, there were 206 students in computer classes at AIL’s Learning Centers in Herat and another 302 students studying at centers in the Kabul area. AIL is fundraising to provide more computers to centers and the demand for classes is very high.

Last year, the AIL Research Center presented the first ever analysis of E-learning in Afghanistan. One finding was that the lack of access to hardware severely restricted students’ ability to engage in E-learning and their consequential lack of interest in online learning of any kind.  This year they are researching the education system, its problems and challenges, dissecting each subject in the system to achieve thorough findings. Youth need to learn computer skills and to have access to reliable internet connection and computers to be part of the modern digital world.

Your support is vital in helping us maintain our programs.

Covid-19: AIL continues with its relief efforts providing food aid, PPE and running a Covid-19 hospital. All health clinics are operating and Learning Centers and schools are holding classes. Radio Meraj continues to broadcast the latest Covid-19 information.
