The Favela Development

Dear Friends,

As we continue through 2026, AME VIVA remains focused on creating accessible opportunities for physical activity, wellness, and community support within the favelas. With the continued support of our partners and donors, we have been able to maintain and expand several programs while responding to the needs and interests of the community.

Over the past few months, our work has centered on keeping these activities accessible and consistent for children, youth, adults, and families.

Continuing Our Sports & Wellness Programs

Our Muay Thai program, introduced earlier this year, continues to provide a structured space for children and adults to participate in regular physical activity.

More than 30 students remain engaged in the program, attending classes that focus not only on physical conditioning but also on discipline, consistency, and confidence.

We are continuing to monitor participation and community interest as we work to maintain the program and make it available to more residents.

Expanding Access to Yoga

Our yoga programming has also continued to grow with support from our collaboration with NUbank.

The expanded program has allowed us to maintain a broader schedule of classes and provide opportunities for residents who may otherwise have limited access to organized wellness activities.

With additional instructors and more weekly classes available, yoga has become an increasingly consistent part of AME VIVA's community programming.

Supporting Families Through Food Distribution

Alongside our sports and wellness activities, AME VIVA continues to recognize that community well-being also depends on access to basic resources.

Through our Healthy Natural Food Basket Campaign, we distributed 40 healthy food baskets to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.

The initiative provided staple foods while allowing us to offer support beyond our regular physical activity programs.

Looking Ahead

As we move into the next months of 2026, our priority is to continue providing programs that are accessible and relevant to the community while building on the activities already established this year.

The support of our donors makes it possible for AME VIVA to keep these opportunities available in a community where access to organized sports, wellness activities, and additional support can be limited.

Expanding Opportunities in the Favelas

Dear Supporters,

As we move through 2026, we want to thank you for continuing to stand alongside AME VIVA and the families we serve. Your generosity allows us to expand access to wellness, physical activity, and essential support resources within our community.

This year has already brought exciting growth to our programs, creating new opportunities for children, youth, and adults to engage in healthy activities, strengthen community bonds, and improve overall well-being.

Program Expansion & Community Engagement

AME VIVA proudly introduced new Muay Thai classes for both children and adults, providing a safe and empowering environment focused on discipline, confidence, and physical health.

Today, more than 30 students are actively enrolled and participating in the program, demonstrating strong community interest and engagement in regular physical activity.

Yoga Program Growth

With support through our collaboration with NUbank, we significantly expanded our yoga programming across the community.

This initiative allowed us to:

• Hire 5 additional yoga instructors
• Increase the number of weekly class offerings
• Create what is now the largest yoga class schedule operating within a favela community

These expanded classes are helping provide accessible wellness opportunities for residents of all ages while promoting mental and physical health.

Food Security & Community Support

Through our Healthy Natural Food Basket Campaign, we were also able to support families experiencing food insecurity.

As part of this initiative:

• 40 healthy food baskets were distributed to community members and families in need

These baskets provided nutritious staple foods and helped reinforce our commitment to supporting holistic community wellness beyond sports and fitness programming.

Harvesting Positivity in the Favelas!

Dear Friends,

We are deeply grateful for your continued support and belief in AME VIVA. Thanks to you, we are able to keep creating meaningful opportunities for children, youth, and adults in our community.

We’re excited to share highlights from October through December 2025, along with how your generosity has supported our work during this period.

Community Impact & Program Growth

During these months, we welcomed new students into our programs:

Children’s Yoga: 2 new students

Children’s Jiu-Jitsu: 2 new students

We are also proud to share an exciting milestone:

Our adult Muay Thai class has officially launched and now serves more than 15 students, expanding our reach and promoting health and discipline among adults in the community.

Marketing & Outreach

To increase visibility and attract new participants, we invested in outreach efforts:

Ran one paid social media campaign, helping spread awareness about our programs and mission.

Program Expenses

To ensure quality instruction and program continuity:Funded 30 hours of paid children’s yoga classes, supporting our instructors and maintaining consistent programming.

Community Events & Experiences

Your support also made it possible to create memorable and enriching experiences for our students:

Children’s Jiu-Jitsu Graduation: Distribution and donation of 18 jiu-jitsu belts, followed by a community celebration with a barbecue and ice bath experience.

Children’s Yoga Field Trip: A special visit to the Planetarium, including pizza lunch, for 14 children, offering both education and joy beyond the classroom.
