PRESENTATION OF THE MURAL AGAINST GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE

In the month of December we continue with the commemoration of the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence, an annual international campaign that begins on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and continues until December 10, Human Rights Day.

As organizations we join this proposal of  UN WOMEN together, with people and organizations from all over the world that promote the prevention and elimination of violence against women and girls.

Our organization works under a clear focus on the prevention of gender violence, always with the intention of educating, training and empowering women, children and adolescents. That is why every year we join this campaign. To end the campaign, we made a mural that shows the feelings of many women refugees, migrants, and the host population, where we all unite in one voice to shout "Not one less, let no one cry for anyone." This mural seeks to impact the lives of many people by inviting reflection.

During the event we have the presence of many people representing various international and grassroots organizations that promote a message of peace, union and integration. You can see in the image the presence of Federico Agustí in charge of UNHCR Peru, Elizabeth Cano from Humanity & Inclusion, Paola Villavicencio from Amnesty International Peru, Rita Estrada from Asociación Grupo de Trabajo Redes, Martha Núñez from the Municipality of Lima, Nela Herrera president from OCASIVEN, Martha Fernández, president of the Vulnerable Population Protection Association (APPV).

This mural is very important for our organization as it represents a tribute to one of the women from the Boss Women project. At the time she gave us the proposal, her sister was a victim of femicide, so her proposal was embodied as it is. The mural was painted with the help of the volunteer women who gladly dedicated their time and willingness to achieve this result.

No woman should ever be violated, no one should be abused, or killed, not one less, let no one cry for anyone.

                                                            The key is prevention.
