Dear Friends
Greetings and best wishes to you from BASS, India
Thank you so much for your kind support and help to the project to operate a work sites school for rescued and identified child labor in the brick industries near Choutuppal Mandal, Yadadri District.
We have started the worksite school from 5th January in a rented house at Brick industries area. As usual we have provided basic primary education along with skills training program for 40 students who came from Orissa state. All the children are identified as child labor in the brick kilns. The police and labor departments were caught the child labor in the brick industries and facilitated education opportunity through our special worksite school and local government school. We are also provided lunch facility to our children. The program has been successfully completed by the end of June Month. And most of the migration families went back to their home state Odisha.
We get good cooperation from government officers include women and Child welfare, Labour and local schools as well as from the management of the brick industries for the successful implementation of the project. Officially the project has been closed from July and again we will start the worksite school from last week of December 2018 for new batch as the season starts.
We get only US$ 54 only from the last two months and we have utilized this grant for few days’ lunch facility for the children.
I submit the brick industries are continuously work in the areas but which are depending up on the weather conditions. Currently rainy season started so the works are interrupted and the all migrated families were went back to their homes. And again the work season will starts from the end of December after rainy season completed and all the families will come back and starts work until June. The works will continue every year during the season and the families from Odisha will continue migrate to work in these brick industries.
I am also very happy to inform you that Mr. Pratip from GlobalGiving has been visited this project site on 20th May 2018 and appreciated and gave his valuable feedback and suggestions.
Our project is also get appreciation from the government departments and also published in newspapers. We are attached news clippings in Local Language Telugu in the report.
Therefore I humbly request you please kindly support the project to operate a works site school in the area.
Thank you so much for your continuous cooperation and support
With gratitude
