BASS India operate 3 After-School Transformational Learning centres for the slum children in Guntur. These slums are situated far from city and where no educational facilities are available. Most of the children's families are living in poverty and are not able to send their children too far to private educational institutions. This project provides quality primary education to enhance children's ability, confidence, learning levels and skills and also makes a part of local formal schools.
Educational facilities are not available in remote slums, most of the slum children are not going to far distance schools and often drop out, especially girl children. Child labor is a big issue here as few children going to works along with their parents to add income to their families. And also slum children are very weak in education performance in the classes due to lack of basic education in time. Children could not get three meals daily and effects with weakness and unhealthy.
To operates After school Learning Centres for children in 3 slums in Guntur. These Centres facilitates good quality education that enhances children confidence, learning levels and skills. And admits them into formal schools to ensures to complete their education in time without dropout. And also takes care of the best health and proper growth of children with daily nutritive meal. Educates children and their families on life skills. This Centre operates 3 hours daily and 6 days in a week.
This project will ensure quality primary education for 150 children from 3 slums in Guntur without dropping out from schools. Children become healthy and complete their schooling effectively to compete with other children in formal schools. children and their families would learn timely life skills and education to become self sustainability and welfare. The established learning centers will continuously working to taking care of all the children in the slums continuously to care and educate.
