Dear Donors,
Thank you for supporting the Benue Massacre June 2025: Help 98 Survivors Relocate project. We sincerely appreciate your generosity and compassion toward families whose lives were devastated by the tragic attacks in Yelewata, Benue State.
The violence left many survivors with unimaginable losses. Homes were destroyed, family members were killed, and entire households were displaced overnight. Many survivors escaped with little more than the clothes they were wearing. Women, children, and elderly people remain among the most vulnerable, facing uncertainty about where they will live and how they will meet their daily needs.
We are grateful for the donations received so far. However, the funds currently available are not sufficient to begin the relocation phase of the project. Additional support is needed before housing arrangements, transportation, food assistance, clothing support, and emergency care activities can commence.
This project seeks to relocate 98 vulnerable survivors to safer communities where they can begin rebuilding their lives. Planned support includes temporary housing assistance, food supplies, clothing, transportation, and basic welfare support for households that lost nearly everything during the attacks. Priority will be given to women-led households, orphaned children, elderly persons, and survivors with medical needs.
Relocation is more than moving families from one place to another. It provides an opportunity for survivors to regain stability, recover from trauma, and begin planning for the future in a safer environment. Access to secure accommodation can reduce exposure to further risks and help families focus on rebuilding their lives.
We remain committed to supporting these survivors and continue working toward the resources needed to launch the first phase of the intervention. As progress is made, we look forward to sharing updates, photographs, and information from the beneficiaries who will receive assistance.
Thank you for standing with survivors during one of the most difficult periods of their lives and for helping restore hope where it is needed most.
Warm regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
