Support for Braille books for the Blind

By Ilakkiaarasi | Relationship Coordinator

We, lndian Association for the Blind (lAB), are based in South India and are a well-known non-profit organization working to provide education, employment, training and rehabilitation for the visually challenged from rural areas. It was established in 1985 by visually challenged activist Late Mr. S.M.A.Jinnah and a group of like-minded visually challenged people. Till date, more than 30,000 youths have been benefited by us and now hold prestigious positions in society.

Thank you for your interest for Seedling Braille Books for our Children. Every 10 dollar we receive will make another braille book for students. The total raised amount is $9,649 through 127 donations. This sum help us to subsidize the high costs books at feasible cost, keeping books affordable for student will contribute the braille literacy.

We would like to give you an assurance that your donation for providing Braille books will be carefully and properly administered. The uphill struggle that your gift represents will be matched with our own dedication to help our kids, and thanks to our combined efforts, many blind children will be blessed with books to read! We deeply appreciate your willingness to share the gift of literacy with these precious children! This will eventually increase the interest towards studies owning individual copies of their text books and provides them an opportunity of studying at their own pace.

This huge sum has been highly beneficial for us in moving closer to our dreams and for our children, in moving closer to their dreams of having good quality educational materials.

These donations will be really useful for helping our students have a memorable educational experience and for guiding them in the right way of approcahing the study material. Our student M Yogeshwari remarks, "Till my 5th grade, I used to ask someone else to read to me and I always needed someone to guide me. After coming here, I have become very independent and can now read Braille comfortably thanks to the coaching and the material given at IAB."
