Both students and teachers continue to rely on the school's new library during this past year and a half. We are grateful the building is finished and able to be used, and that it has a good collection of resources for teachers as well as textbooks for our older students. This has been very helpful during the past school year when the school schedule has been variable and often students needed to be at home learning on their own. The students could borrow library books to help them with their studies.
The 6th grade students took their very important year-end exams at the end of March. They are currently awaiting their results which are expected in July or early August. We hope they did well. On their mock exams a month earlier, they achieved 2nd place in our district which has almost 90 primary schools in it. We believe the library has been crucial to their success. Our library resources also help teachers prepare for their lessons like teacher Patrick is doing in the attached photo.
If the remaining funds can be raised for the library, we hope that our younger classes of students can also have a good supply of textbooks in the library to help them in their studies too!
Please let your families, friends and co-workers know about this opportunity to help young students excel in their learning. This is especially important when students studying on their own is often a necessity due to Covid-19 effects on the Uganda school schedule.
