Change student life by supporting a solar lamp

By Md. Maksudur Rahman | Chief Executive of BEDS

Poor Students life is changing by the solar lamp
Poor Students life is changing by the solar lamp

Lack of electricity is found in the maximum area of Sundarbans coastal region of Bangladesh. In this region, people have to remain at dark at night due to the unavailability of electricity. Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) has been trying to reduce the sufferings of the coastal people by supporting solar lamps since 2014. BEDS is trying to get fund from the donors for this purpose because, without their aid it is impossible to support the beneficiaries. We have got two donations $ 66 from two donors and we expect we will be able to attract the donors eyes and get the total amount $ 12987  for this project.

The students said that they are completely deprived of electricity. Due to our poverty my family can’t afford to purchase Kerosene every day. That is why they can’t read at night and it hampers them study. They want to read more. They are begging to all, please help them and give them a solar lamp.’’

We have shared the news with the local community that two honorable donors have already supported us. It is their belief that one day they will get solar lamps from the kind people.

This is our prayer to the kind hearted donors, please come forward and reduce the sufferings of those poor coastal people.
