Help protect 1000 children from child abuse

Your gift to us is priceless, we are humbly pleased by your generous donation that you award to us, so far. “MY CHILD IS YOUR CHILD”. For years we were shaped and formed by the slogan in becoming adults to respect each other and children. As the years went by for some reason we have drifted away from the slogan and parents are raising their children for themselves and not for the communities out there.

Cape Town has suffered at the hand of ruthless, merciless people who has raped, brutally murdered children in the past few months. Statistic shared 19 children were raped and killed our latest victim a 3 year old baby girl who was raped and murdered by a tenant who rented a room by the family. “If this is not shocking then I don’t know what is”. Our Communities are in turmoil and awareness and education are an ongoing need.

The Jerry team are in the process of preparing the resource pack for those communities that has suffered at the hand of these killings. We are making contact with them to start training them as Jerrys to teach their Communities. The communities affected by this violent abuse are: Elsies River, Khayalitsha, Mitchells Plain, Lavender Hill, Hout Bay and many more.

This is one of the saddest reports we have ever written as an Organization, but it’s staring us right in the face and on our doorstep. As an organization despite these gruesome killings it has opened another window for us to use the child abuse program Jerry Giraffe to capacitate communities and their families.

Your contribution helps us to bring light into the dark situation we see in our Cape Flats communities. Through the Jerry Giraffe initiative we hope that the families affected will find some comfort in their loss and grief.
