Thanks to the support of GlobalGiving, we were able to completely renovate our Children's Center, which is located in the city of Odesa! Equip a computer class, purchase new modern furniture and equipment! The center is located in the central part of the city, which makes it accessible to most families! We have expanded the range of services - preparatory classes for school in basic disciplines!
We conducted a survey of 230 IDP families and 75 (residents of Odesa) with children aged 5 to 12 years - 85 percent noted that they did not have the financial ability to pay for preschool education and additional classes. 70 percent note the child’s fear before the start of the school year, which is associated with a possible biased attitude towards IDP children.
The work of the Center allows us to provide free, high-quality preschool education and additional classes for children who are already studying. Facilitate the socialization of children in a new environment. Provides the opportunity to attend creative classes and master classes. When conducting group classes, 80% of children are from IDP families (20% are children from Odesa families), this format allows children to more actively communicate with local youth and integrate.
On the first day of opening, we received more than 40 new applications to visit the center! This shows the relevance and demand of the project! We are already developing options for expanding the center’s activities.
