During the past 3 months, mentees continued taking part in computer classes and utilize the learned skills. 6 meetings out of scheduled 6 were held for the mentees. 3 more meetings were carried out for the mentees to practice their knowledge and make their power-point presentations.
One of the mentees expressed her gratitude: “Nor Luyce is a real light in my life. It is so powerful to see how both my mentor and everyone in the organization believes in me and my ability to become a good professional. This is so heartwarming’’.
The resource center was used not only by the mentees, but also by the mentors and other volunteers of the organization.
From February to April mentees used resource center to work on their career plans, write course papers, research papers, and individual papers, search the necessary information on the internet and make posters and power point presentation for their classes.
6 mentees helped the Group Meeting Coordinator to organize group meeting for other beneficiaries of the organization. They organized meeting about Indian Culture, Hygiene, Discussion literacy etc., which they presented to the participants.
In total during these several months, Nor Luyce provided 98 hours of computer classes and usage to 42 mentees, 17 mentors, and 6 volunteers.
While the mentees were working on their career plans, they were exposed to various prominent professionals in the city, who helped them to answer their questions and bring clarity to their future goals.
Several mentees reported: "It is amazing to have a chance to meet people who have succeeded in their careers. We could learn the secrets of their success and clarify the details of the chosen profession. It makes things easy for us to understand which profession is close to our hearts”.
