Support the education of the youths

By LISA TANZILLI | CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP MANAGER

Fadil* first young SOS student enrolled at the Euromed University of Fez
During the 2020-2021 school year, Fadil* challenged himself to get the best grade, to be the first one either in class or at the regional level. He wanted to finalize his course at the Royal Military High School with success, leaving his mark, promoting the image of SOS Children's Villages Morocco, as a young person who grew up in SOS Children's Villages. Fadil* obtained an average of 15.15 and received his Baccalaureate in Humanities with honors! And it's not over yet! The following school year also started brilliantly for Fadil* with a merit scholarship by being the first young SOS student to integrate the Euromed University in Fez! He was able to obtain free annual registration fees, as well as accommodation and meals. Fadil* shared his joy with his brothers, his teacher, his professors and the entire educational team of SOS Children's Villages Morocco.
We are very proud of him, it is at the price of his efforts, his determination!

The road to autonomy (El jadida) : Hanane*
The objective of the Association of Children's Villages of Morocco has always been to see children become young people capable of relying on themselves and finding a good job or having their own project. Some young people have succeeded in achieving autonomy, and this is the case of Hanane*, 19 years old, who, thanks to her skills and the help of the SOS Children's Village team, has been able to get a job as an administrative and financial assistant in one of the large wellness centers in Oualidia.

 Jalil* Warmth and complicity

When you ask Jalil* about these last few special months, he answers with a smile tinged with calm and optimism: "The last two years have been a bit difficult, especially at the beginning of COVID-19 with the lock down, but I got used to it. I've really enjoyed having more time to read, meditate and also enjoy my family more. And I love being involved with my host mom," he says calmly. There is an atmosphere of serenity and trust within his foster family. Khadija, in charge of Jalil*'s follow-up, tells me "Jalil* often reminds his foster mother of what is missing at home and he insists on going with her to the wholesale market every Sunday, because his foster mother is a shopkeeper". To which Jalil* adds, "I'm also learning the commercial fiber and I like it a lot!" So Jalil* future career in perspective?

I can tell you that the results of the young people were very conclusive this year. After obtaining his Sciences baccalaureate with honors, Rachid* entered a renowned agronomic and veterinary institute. Firdaous*, integrated the "Haute école de santé" (private) with a specialization in midwifery.  "The various orientation workshops in the village and the visit to the school confirmed my professional choices. I am very motivated," she says. She is an independent young woman who has just become autonomous and currently lives with her fellow students. As for Khaoula*, a law student in a famous university, she was awarded a merit scholarship. I let you imagine her joy on the day of this announcement! The young people have fully invested their summer vacations to become more professional. Najib* obtained a diploma specialized in the leather trades. Since the summer of 2021, he has been working in a manufacturing workshop. He proudly states, "I am happy and proud to make pieces that delight customers." Congratulations to these young people!
