Transforming Lives: The Juanfe Foundation and its impact on Cartagena

By Natalia Latorre | Communications Coordinator

In the year 2024, in Cartagena, the Juanfe Foundation has worked to reduce the cycles of poverty and prevent subsequent pregnancy. Thanks to the generous support of our donors, we have been able to manage 25 vacancies and apply for 67 processes to contribute to the economic independence of young people in vulnerable conditions. Each of these opportunities represents a ray of light in the midst of darkness, an opportunity for transformation and growth for these brave young women.

With gratitude, we share that 53 of these young women were linked to meaningful employment. A crucial step towards independence and self-sufficiency. And we didn't stop there: 38 of these young women were able to secure subsequent jobs, demonstrating their perseverance and determination to build a better future.

So far this year, we have welcomed 80 young women from technical programmes, and thanks to the support of our donors, we were able to offer them not one, but two training opportunities. Through courses and workshops, these young women gained valuable skills and practical knowledge that will open doors in the world of work and in their personal lives.

Seeing these young women graduate with economic autonomy is an achievement that goes beyond the financial. It is a symbol of strength and self-improvement. All of this would not be possible without the generous support of our donors. Thanks to each and every one of you, we are changing lives, creating opportunities and building a future for these young women and the entire community of Cartagena.
